I came across this one perusing my timeline the other day. Composted by Fumigated is the grindcore band’s first release and it has something for everyone. It has strong death metal influence, gory vocals, fight riffs, breakdowns, two steps, minces and impenitent whammy bar usage. With any reputable grind release nowadays, it showcases some chunked out guitar tones and the old pingy ping snare that retains a good deal of low end to smack you in the face a little harder.
Composted was recorded by someone appropriately named Trashcan at The Leathershop. The artwork, by Bryan Brady is gnarly too, conjuring a scene of what it might look like if the occult illustrated Where the Wild Things Are. Overall, the release is dirty, aggressive and I love the old school brutal death metal vibes on some tracks. My favorite comment on YouTube was “A meth lab just exploded in Lima.”
