Strangers are out here ready to bust heads with this new track. Appropriately titled "Flinch", this in-your-face anthem is ready for war from beginning to end and there's no escape from this hate. Everything about this song is the musical equivalent to being followed home and mugged for everything you have. This is the type of song you imagine playing in your head when someone pisses you off and you're contemplating the most evil things imaginable. But it doesn't stop there. It's not just the emotion that draws you in - This song also goes hard and stacks up with others in its own category and proves that in an "actions speak louder than words" type of way. SO, if you've been looking for more music to torture others to, or torture yourself at the gym with, then you are in for a treat!
We sat down with one of the Strangers, here's what they had to say:
Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Can you tell our readers more about yourself and the band?
Thank you for your time as well. Simply put, we’re just a group of strangers whose goal is to share the struggle with our peers and pedal our pain, as well as honor the memory of everyone we’ve lost along the way. This is real blood, sweat, & tears. Not much else can be said that wouldn’t require a deep explanation and I’d rather our listeners and viewers make their own interpretations as we become acquainted. The material will speak for itself.
Tell us more about Flinch and what do you think the track stands for?
Flinch is a statement, a warning, and possibly a threat. The song at it’s core is about rough justice but the message is open to interpretation, I suppose, so I’ll let the listener decide how they wanna take it. It is worth noting though, that this is the only song we have written that’s this blatantly aggressive. The rest of our material is much more personal and retrospective so we wanted to sort of “ease in” before we get to more complex and uncomfortable topics. Aside from that, who hasn’t wanted to get their hands on someone who’s wronged them at some point in their life? It’s not a hard concept to relate to, which is one reason we chose this song to be the single.
Is there an EP or Album to be expected in 2019?
Yes. We will be releasing a couple EPs throughout the year. Don’t wanna day too much but you can definitely expect to hear a whole lot more from us in the near future.
Let's Talk shows, Anything big planned?
As far as shows go, we have a couple booked for February but the focus right now is completing the recording process. Our bass player is also the vocalist of another band who have a few big tours in 2019, so we’re also working around that. You can expect to see us around though, for sure.
What are some goals for Strangers in 2019?
Record all of the material we’ve been sitting on, execute each campaign efficiently, tour at least once, and expand on our brand. Overall growth would be the goal without a doubt.
What bands are some of the biggest influences behind Strangers?
Influences vary but I’d say the most identifiable ones would be Gojira, King 810, Varials, & Prison.
Lastly, We always give the artist the last word, feel free to tell the readers everything you want them to know!
In a market over saturated by artists who portray a false image, Strangers is something unapologetically real. We will never attempt to be anything other than an outlet for our own aggression & depression. Whether or not anyone identifies with what we do or say is just an additional perk. Thank you to everyone who has continually contributed to this project for your unconditional and unwavering support. Special thanks to Hunter Hume, Hunter Derr, Chris Bullen, & Hunter Spader for the hard work and dedication they put into everything we’re planning on releasing in 2019. Thank you to Worldwide Underground for spending some time getting to know a couple of complete Strangers. And last but not least, thank you for tuning in. We’ll see ya around.
