Line of Scrimmage - Demo Review (2017)
New York City
Hardcore/Beatdown/Metal

5 years since their last release, They are back and  just as angry as before! I used to love catching these dudes up in N. Jersey with NY/NJ locals. Listen to their 2017 Demo right now!

Line Of Scrimmage has always been my cup of Tea when it comes to Hardcore And Metal Influenced bands. This Demo opens with Pestilence and its everything you want from a previous fan standpoint! But if you are new LOS this song Features heavy moving 2 steps, monster build ups and drum pauses, leading to crushing breakdowns. The Hardcore roots are real in this track. You are getting the TRUE mid 2000's experience with a very updated feel. The Next Track Dark Sider, starts out very much Darker and more metal then most of the last song. Super heavy and people will be grooving to this hard, live! The Drums stand out a lot more on this track compared to the first. The Breakdown at the end is HARD AS FUCK!
Moving on to the last track No Reward. It starts off ready for battle! There are a bunch of Punky 2 steps and thrashy influences on this track that have me drooling for more. This DEMO is amazing! I give it a 5/5 but have always been a fan. I wish it had just ONE more track but these 3 songs are bangers all in there own way. On the plus it leaves me begging for more!

Tracks/Lyrics:

Track 1: Pestilence
Pestilence on all mankind Humanity running out of time I am judge and jury Marching in line With the sheep Hollow promises Minds asleep Failure to evolve All your courage and your pride will soon dissolve I am judge and jury Plagued by relentless fury Your realization of lost sanction Feeding off your every fear All I see is decay in the human race Your martyrs buried in disgrace And it's hard not to lose your way When this warzone is your birth place Pestilence Another memory forged in misery Your uncertainty breeds hostility Pestilence Swallow your useless sympathy Or face weakness for eternity Learn or suffer Learn or suffer we all pay the same price I promise in the end that there is no paradise Judge and jury sending you to burn Promising misery if you do not learn or suffer Misery everlasting

Track 2: Dark Sider
No light is left in me Only the fire that won't set me free Darksider There's no light left in me My heart now calloused So I can't feel anything Darksider My sins will bury me So now I know my soul will never be free My soul can't be freed The Darksider You took so much from me You gave me strength but you also brought me suffering Darksider There's no light left in me My heart now calloused So I can't feel anything Darksider My sins will bury me So now I know my soul will never be free No light Darksider Feet to the fire Circle of sin I see no light No light

Track 3:  No Reward
No reward no regard No reward for doing the right thing And that's how it should stay And if your looking for a handout your in the wrong place No reward no regard Every man lives by his own code No reward no regard Face to face with the end of the road I'll never ask for something different Cause I know how it all ends Cause i knew it and I see through it Face to face with the end of the road There's no reward There is no redemption Everything I've thrown away were the best fucking parts of me No reward no regard Cause i knew it and I see through it Face to face with the end of the road
