Minneapolis, MN based death metal newcomers Writhe have unleashed a very brutal introductory project that is far too heavy to ignore. What's also hard to ignore is the influence taken from quite a few metal genres that make this EP so fresh and keep a listener wondering what they might be hearing next. No matter where the influence may stray off to momentarily, it always comes back to that really dark death metal with a black metal twist and that's definitely something I can get behind.
