We are a super down to earth team, and will open arms to anyone willing to join forces! First, You will need laptop or PC to operate our blog (If you are committed to daily articles, we may be able to work with your mobile device) Here's a look into what we are going to need from a new writer:
Music News/Tour Alerts Reviews Interviews
I feel that they are pretty self explanatory, however I will give an example of how we operate. For Music News, We follow our favorite artists (some we don't like) on all social media. 9/10 when a tour/album is hinted or a member quits the band, News breaks on their personal social media pages first. Music News is a very wide spread category, from break ups to New music, to Tour announcements and cancellations. Whatever you think our audience wouldn't mind reading about, Publish away. Reviews work 3 ways, You can review any band you think deserves a little love. You can be fed Music to Review by us, or both! We have a super simple format to follow for reviews which will be explained later in the process. Interviews, Ah the thing everyone wants to do but never does. Seriously our Interview section is deprived. Feel free to interview anyone you would like. Reach out to Bands/managements and get those contacts. We can all help you with getting you in touch with the right people! If you would like to set up Video-Interviews by all means do so! We are non profit, What gets donated goes into the platform not pockets and we consistently put out comps for animal benefits . We want further grow our presence in the music industry so we can continue to help new bands reach the next level in their careers. Please fill the form out below if you are as committed as we are!

Tyler Dennen Parts Ways With Sworn In

Some definitely saw it coming, but it looks like this is the end of an era for Sworn In as long time member and vocalist Tyler Dennen announced his departure from the band. I have to admit it took a couple listens for me to get into the record given that its totally out of my wheelhouse. With that said, it be unfair for me to try and break a record like this down. But I can give you my honest opinion and let you check it out and decide for yourself.

To sum it up Drowning In The Mainstream is a brutal, chaotic, all out assault of audio insanity. Front man Mark Jenkins' vocals are ferocious and raw and lyrically punk as fuck, touching on issues such as social injustice and greed, The samples throughout the records really help reinforce these issues.

Band Members:

Vocals-Mark Guitar-James Guitar and Vocals-Jeremy Guitar-Francis Drums-Myles Bass and Screams-Vasco

BOTTOM LINE:

Drowning In The Mainstream is definitely a unique and interesting record. For the deathcore crowd, that recognition indisputably goes to Impending Doom. This Riverside powerhouse formed 13 years ago with plans of "worshipping God through gore-sounding music," and took the gore-grind/death metal scene by surprise with 2005's The Sin and Doom of Godless Men demo. While 2007's Nailed. Dead. Risen. hinted at the fledgeling deathcore sound of the time, the following year'sThe Serpent Servant tightened their sound with influence from old Slipknot.

After There Will Be Violence's more melodic stint, 2012's Baptized in Filth and 2013's Death Will Reign saw Impending Doom hit their stride in ball-busting grooves, guttural brutality and a ridiculously thick guitar tone wrapped in a nu metal-inspired package. After five years out of the game, the announcement of their 2018 comeback LP The Sin and Doom Vol. II caused massive excitement throughout the deathcore community—and for good reason. Impending Dooms return signals their unapologetic embrace of the most primitive, no-holds-bared elements of their style.

Though its title may have raised hopes for Impending Doom's return to death-grind, Vol. II's singles stand very much in line with the ultra heavy nu-deathcore stylings of the past two records—if anything, they've doubled down. Brandon "Btown" Trahan's jackhammer blast beats and nasty double-bass grooves drive steadfast thug-and-chug guitars, less-is-more melodic sensibilities and eerie ambience. The latter track sports more of Manny Contreras and Eric Correa's Cannibal Corpse-inspired riffage and rhythmic dynamics than the former's pounding simplicity, with Brook Reeves solidifying an obliterating experience through his disgusting, yet disipherable gutturals and unflinchingly honest lyrics. "Sometimes I wouldn't blame God if he lit the world on fire," is tailor-made for a band who has no problem wearing their faith on their sleeve as they kick ass and take names.

With N.D.R. producer Christpher Eck back behind the sound board, the sheer size of Vol. II could level mountain ranges. From David Sittig's filthy bass tone to tectonic Meshuggah-esque string bends, everything about this record carries a premeditated weight. "War Music" spotlights this use of heaviness as an actual instrument within tried-and-true double bass bursts, high-end guitar noodling and the band's signature depth charge drops. There's no overstating it... these songs feel like an elephant drowning in lead. Impending Doom effectively eliminate the need for pleasantries, going straight for the jugular.

Vol. II chocks its 36-minutes full of visceral intent. "Burn," "EVIL," and "The Serpent's Tongue" may not crack the three-minute mark, but their short-fused battery perfectly encapsulates Impending Doom's unbridled sonic assault. Between the first track's bombshell chugs and catchy syncopation, the second's thrashing speed and head-splitting guitar squeals or the third's harmonized tremolo picking and double-kick syncopation, they remain distinct and catchy in their barbaric intensity. Reeves capitalizes on this backdrop with his confrontational stance against corrupt religiosity and luke-warm faith—as summarized by his condemnation of evildoers in the church in "Burn" and the pre-breakdown callout of "The Serpents Tongue:" "I am a Christian. A faithful man of God. Come at me."

"Enough is Enough, your religion of greed is out of control," Reeves bellows in the final moments of "Paved With Bones," continuing his ongoing war against Christian legalism. This song's agile hammeron guitar-work and atmospheric tremolo picking evidence Impending Doom's attention to sending chills up spines before snapping said spines the Bain-to-Batman treatment. They're not here to wow anyone with their technical ability, but their beefcake grooves have an almost scientific execution.

The nuances of Vol II often keep its lack of meticulous composition from becoming boring, which allow "Unbroken" to rise as a particularly infectious track with an unforgettable lead riff carrying it through pulverizing bomb blasts and thrashing rhythm changes. Even as the outro features the bass, drums and rhythm guitar in their most basic form, the syncopated mid-range lead shines through as the real catalyst for the song's feel. In a similar way, "Devil's Den" elevates what could have become a watered down Slipknot jam into a head-crushing slugfest by confidently asserting themselves as a hard-hitting, no nonsense juggernaut of low-end decimation—bringing the fight straight to the listener as Reeves roars, "I stand at the gates of your hell, and bring the power of a mighty God."

The sheer power and ferocity of Vol II rings true throughout its relatively short runtime, but closing curveball "Run For Your Life (She Calls)" epitomizes the fine-tuned thoughtfulness with its genuinely unnerving aura. The song may find its bread and butter in quarter note triplets and china cymbal abuse, but its electronic-tinged refrain, brooding growls and inexplicable drum solo section end the album with its most diverse track. For all its primal rage, Vol. II solidifies itself as Impending Doom's most consistent record to date.

BOTTOM LINE: Comeback records are notoriously tricky for any band striving to progress as musicians without compromising themselves or disappointing their fans. The Sin and DoomVol. II is hardly a surprise, but Impending Doom succeed due to their commitment to the sound they've used to acquire legendary status in the modern deathcore scene. Whether or not the band will transcend its stylistic confines in future releases remains to be seem, but their decision to hold no punches this time around pays off remarkably.

RATING: 8/10

Standout Track: "Unbroken"

GET IN TOUCH

Facebook.com/WorldwideHardcore

Worldwidehardcore.bandcamp.com

Twitter.com/wwucrew

Instagram.com/Worldwide_Hardcore

Promote your band in our group:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/927839270619922

Line of Scrimmage: Sitting on New Music

One of my favorite heavy bands from NY, Line of Scrimmage are set to release a new album. So let's back this all up, Tim of As I Lay Dying served time for hiring a hitman on his ex wife. I will agree with everyone here, that was a scummy situation that he brought on himself. I do not agree attempted murder of any kinds (Other than self defense) should have any sorts of a minimal jail sentence or even parole. Fast forward a bit, 2018. So let's back this all up, Tim of As I Lay Dying served time for hiring a hitman on his ex wife. I will agree with everyone here, that was a scummy situation that he brought on himself. He served his time, and it's okay if you and I feel that it wasn't enough time. I do not agree attempted murder of any kinds (Other than self defense) should have any sorts of a minimal jail sentence or even parole. Fast forward a bit, 2018. This year has thrown a lot of curveballs so far in the land of heavy music. One that didn't catch me off guard was AILD returning with Tim. It was hinted about 6 months ago, one year after Tim had been released in a giant apology letter issued to the world. Why is this even relevant? Well I've seen countless of Friends on both sides of this pickle. Some getting ripped apart by the moral police, and others constantly defending new As I Lay Dying. I even seen a Metal page try to side with some of their fans, commenting that Tim needs to apologize to his wife before anything. Not that it is really anyone's business, he already did. publicly. Was it enough in my book? nah. However I do appreciate the new AILD. I can honestly say I never liked that band for the vocals, This new track in my opinion brings a lot of roots of a great era for metalcore blended and polished extremely well for this day in age. I respect the hell out of the other 4 dudes that didn't hire a hitman to potentially kill a loved one. Tim doesn't sing that catchy chorus or play the drums and guitar and those elements stuck out most to me. As for the band making the decision to come back with Tim, what did you expect out of a bunch of christians.. Anyway, I am obviously in the middle here. I just wanted to let you know IT'S OKAY if you like the new As I Lay Dying. I may be weird about actually giving them my money (I just can't), but listening to a really well written metalcore song shouldn't be frowned upon. It's not like they are a hate band, I don't see these songs spreading the message to hire hitmen. I can't forgive and forget, and will always feel some kind of way about Tim Lambesis but I have enough perspective to give the other dudes a chance even if I don't agree with their move at vocals. To those who feel an apology is needed here it is, from 6 months ago:

The post reads:"Words cannot begin to express how deeply sorry I am for the hurt that I have caused. There is no defense for what I did, and I look back on the person I became with as much disdain as many of you likely do.

First, I apologize to my former wife and remarkable children for my appalling actions. There’s not a single day that goes by where I don’t wish I could undo the damage I caused, and out of respect for their wishes I will not discuss anything else about them (now or in the future). I also ask anyone reading this to promote healing for them by respecting their privacy and defending them from any negativity or anger which should be directed towards me. I was the sole offender and the only one to blame for everything that happened.

To my family, I apologize for the trauma you faced and may still feel. This is an ongoing sentence many of you serve because of me. I am so sorry to my friends who were betrayed by everything I hid from them and all the hardships I caused people who used to work with me.

Band mates, road crew, managers, attorneys, agents, label people, and more all had to suffer through many unexpected changes because of my actions. While they were dealing with the aftermath of my arrest, I responded toward many of them with bitterness that I should have directed toward myself. I know that I can’t undo the animosity I brought their way, but I hope to mend what I can now as time goes on.To the people who looked up to me as an artist, I let you down in so many ways. I tried to show my best side to the public, while feeding an ugly growing monster behind closed doors. I wrote lyrics about the person I wanted to be rather than the person that I was. I was living a life that lacked empathy and viewed everything through a self-motivated lens.I cannot say for certain what life looks like going forward as so much is different now and I’m still learning.

Music always has and always will be a part of me, and has helped me get through the darkest parts of my journey. However, this apology is not a part of promoting anything. Rumors circulate, and that’s something I’ve learned to accept, but this apology is just that, an apology to everyone around me.I’ve remained silent to the public since expressing remorse at my sentencing because time seemed like the best way to promote healing. Today marks the first opportunity to freely apologize without any motivation to gain favor from the courts, as I have now completed the entirety of my legal sentence (including the completion of all parole/probation requirements).

Let it be clear that no amount of time served can right my wrongs. I do not feel deserving of a second chance and am not asking for anyone’s trust. The way many people feel about me makes sense, and only time will tell if my future actions line up with my remorse, something I pray for every day. In the last five years, the ripple effect of all my actions has extended further than a written statement can address. Thus, I will continue to apologize in both words and actions moving forward.Thank you for reading,Tim"

I don't care if you love or hate the new AILD, I respect you no matter what side your on cause that's how it should be.

INTO THE FLOOD Announce New Album; Premiere New Single

Tacoma, WA metalcore heavy hitters INTO THE FLOOD are about the unleash their new record "Cycles of Self" real soon this year!Ever since being dropped from Century Media Records years ago, this band has shown absolutely zero signs of slowing down! Early this year the world got wind that Chicago's' finest were releasing a new album. Their first release, is hands down one of my favorite drowning tracks to-date "World of Snakes". Matching the intensity of the song was their live music video showing how their town gets down. Months later, they released another music video for "Gods" which took most drowning fans by surprise, a new side of Drowning? Hip hop influenced Hard Rock? The world flipped it's lid on the band..Assuming they forgot 'World of Snakes', one of their hardest songs yet... Is set to be on the same album as this new progressional path they took with 'Gods'. From being close with the band since Ego Trip dropped (and being a fan before-hand) I can confidently say I know these dudes influences. You can't trap a vocalist like that into one genre, specially beatdown. I happened to love the new experimental side of the band, but I will admit it had to grow on me. Luckily, I got to listen to the new album before the song dropped and all my 'Could-be' worries went out the door cause this album is just as hard as you'd expect from Drowning. Yea.. a few left fielders that you have to escape from what you thought of the band previously to fully appreciate. Once you do you'll be on the same page as the band with no worry of what you truly love about them, leaving anytime soon! This new single proves my point, Featuring a guest spot from Detroit's Jesse Adkins (of Cold As Life and Smash Your Enemies)... NUFF SAID.

This song is one of the hard hitters Drowning has instore for you on this upcoming album. The song was released via New Noise Magazine on soundcloud... Idk how I feel about a SoundCloud release.. Seems super corny, but it was a label move, not a band move.. Being that it is on Fast Breaks account. Why tho? Who the fuck knows..Why not invest in a cheap stream video for easy streaming/Sharing? Something visually hyping me up to buy what i'm hearing...IDK, The way this album is set, it should blow up. The hardcore and beatdown kids will remain in love with this band, plus the attraction of an entirely new crowd... For a 3rd single release after 2 beautifully shot music videos,I anticipated a lot more than a soundcloud player. Could be just me... I'll shut up now.. Here is "
My Response" by Drowning
feat. VULTUREPEAK

Sometimes, when searching for bands to include in this article, something as simple as the band's name or their artwork is enough to catch me and check the band out. VULTUREPEAK was definitely a name that kept standing out to me and I am glad that I checked them out. Snake Body is a fast and noisy punk/hardcore release that pulls no punches. Grinding riffs are matched with frantic screaming and equally hectic drums, leaving the listening feeling like they got smacked with a brick by the time the last note rings (I mean that in the absolute best way possible).

Top Track: Trench Weight

BandCamp: vulturepeak.bandcamp.com

Social Media:facebook.com/vulturepeak

vulturepeak.bigcartel.com

7. Fire in the Blood- The Darkness in Goodbye

Fire in the Blood reminds me of the days when metalcore was more hardcore than metal, back when the genre had more, for lack of a better word, balls. People were less concerned with placing bands in genres and categories and bands were constantly pushing boundaries. Fire in the Blood's brand of metalcore is fast and loud and fuses the two genres in a way that other bands in the genre tend to stay away from. Metallic riffs are contrasted with biting breakdowns, catchy two steps and other staples of the hardcore genre. It is incredibly refreshing to see more and more bands exploring the hardcore side of metalcore more lately, and bringing back a style of the genre that many of us grew up loving (even if most of those bands we thought were straight up hardcore bands as kids). "The Darkness in Goodbye" is a beast of a release and should end up in everybody's music library.

Top Track: Scales of Justice

BandCamp: fireintheblood.bandcamp.com

6. Displacement- Displacement

I swear to God, if you ever come across a bandy from Perth, Australia, they are going to fucking rip. I swear like 60% of the bands I have come across and really stuck with me are from Perth. Displacement just further proves my point. The screamed vocalists and the clean/yelled vocals are done so well together and so powerful as hell. The riffs are aggressive and bouncy and the breakdowns have a fuck ton of punch to them. Every song is absolutely filled with energy. This EP doesn't let up from the second it starts until the last song.

Top Track: Worms

BandCamp: displacementband.bandcamp.com

Social Media: https://www.facebook.com/Displacementband

5. Noxious- Chaotic Cycles

"Chaotic Cycles" doesn't drop until June 12th, but Noxious has two heavy as fuck tracks for us to listen to to get hype for the release. Noxious is a deathcore band from Fredericksburg, Virginia. Bouncy as hell, there are some nu metal influences all over these tracks, so if that's your thing, you'll love this. The riffs are bouncy as hell and surprisingly catchy. Judging from these first two tracks, "Chaotic Circles" seems very promising.

Top Track: Blitz

BandCamp: noxiousVA.bandcamp.com

Social Media: https://www.facebook.com/noxiousofficial/

4. Goner

RIght from the very first second of their self-titled release, Goner hits like a punch to the face. Not for a second throughout the four vicious tracks does this band give the listener any breaks. Every single second is in your face aggressiveness. The riffs are upbeat and punchy and the drummer drives each song through at a furious pace. Even the melodic end to "The Great Deceiver" just feels like, at any second, the band will explode into a wall of sound again. The breakdowns/fight riffs in this hit hard as all hell. This EP has to be one of my favorite releases I have found in a while.

Top Track: Momentary Clarity

BandCamp: gonersyracuse.bandcamp.com

Social Media: https://www.facebook.com/gonerbandsyracuse/

3. Remission- 51

Remission is a heavy hardcore band out of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. "51" the latest single dropped by the band is an absolute monster of a track that I have found myself coming back to over and over again, constantly wanting more. The riffs are catchy and heavy as hell, with some seriously heavy and unexpectedly punchy breakdowns breaking up the pacing. Hands down my favorite part of this song is the ending, which uses an audio clip and dives into a really heavy breakdown to wrap everything up. It reminds me of the early 2000's bands that constantly used this tactic and, to be honest, I really missed that trend.

BandCamp: remissionPGH.bandcamp.com

Social Media: facebook.com/remissionPGH

2. Dread

Dread is one of those bands, to me at least, that you know you're gonna like from the first 20 seconds of listening to them. Playing beatdown/hardcore out of New Jersey, Dread is not a band to sleep on. Right from the intro track, the listener is presented with a really catchy two step promptly followed by a groovy as hell breakdown. Every breakdown/fight riff is incredibly groovy and invokes some insane mosh. Dread is a refreshing change of pace from other beatdown bands in that they are really upbeat in between the vicious as fuck mosh parts. I can personally say that the intensity in this release translates perfectly to their live performance. The band bleeds energy and the pit was a fucking warzone all set long. I see a great future ahead for Dread.

Top Track: Scorn

BandCamp: dreadhardcore.bandcamp.com

Social Media: https://www.facebook.com/dreadhardcore

1. Pressure Cracks- PRESSURE CRACKS EP

This EP really took me off guard. I was never really a fan of Letlive or The Fever, but I can't deny how talented of a frontman Jason Butler is. His vocal range is impressive as hell, and in Pressure Cracks, he uses the extent of it. His scream is has so much power and aggression to it. The band rips through ridiculous breakdowns and dangerously catchy two steps that flow so damn well together, it's hard not to like this shit. I can't wait to see how this band is live, seeing how wild Jason goes in his live performances.

Top Track: Stay Inside, Stay Alive

BandCamp: pressurecracks.bandcamp.com

Social Media: facebook.com/pressurecracks

Instagram.com/pressurecracks

twitter.com/pressure_cracks

Hate Diplomacy Announce Debut Album; Release Two New Singles!

Hate Diplomacy have finally announced their upcoming debut album. Less than an hour ago, As I lay Dying updated their cover photo with a teasing video along with changing their default. What does this mean? IDK, who's in the band? IDK. I know Heavy Hardcore gets thrown around pretty loosely these days but it's the only way to describe a band like this. They have that early 00's hardcore vibe with a hint of Metalcore. The song ends with some shred which in my opinion is the only proper way to end a song. There was so much hype around here when people learned that there would be clean vocals in their new album, which I was honestly really excited for. This turned into one of my favorites for the year in a very short amount of time, and it was very easy to see why!

“Call of the Void” starts out this beautiful work of brutal and progressive metal goodness. Right out the gate, a definite contrast to the last BTT album, showcasing true musical maturity between these two projects. Without hesitation, we are thrown into “Visions of Inner Depth” where the balance between haviness and progressive quality is kept, but not long before the tempo is changed and we are thrown into some new territory. But then... those cleans.

Dear mother of God.

For those unfamiliar with this band (there may be more than a few, so don't feel too bad), this is their first instance of using clean vocals in their songs, and I think it turned out spectacular. These dudes really wanted to push themselves t achieve great things, and that's exactly what they did here. This track is followed by one hell of a banger, which is titled “Despondency”. I can definitely see why this song was used to promote Visions of Inner Depth because it has heart and soul similar to their last album with some familiar traditional BTT elements, while also including new components that truly add to this masterpiece. “Resurgence” follows in with a lighter vibe to start out before kicking back into gear. This song features a few instances like this before calmly fading out, yet still wonderfully piecing this album together into one massive musical wonderland. “Vanishing Light” starts off in a different place – an eerie, atmospheric vibe is on display before guitars start joining in and bringing us back into familiar territory. Musically, it almost reminds me of certain elements of “Revenant” off of their previous album Connect, like seeing an idea being taken but scrapping the rest of the song and starting fresh, with this being the wonderful end result of it.

“Abhorrence” will kick off the second half of this musical journey, ringing in with a heavier vibe before beginning with these heavy, bending riffs and deep vocals. Even when things start to slow down a bit, this deep, strong vocal range is kept before switching over to cleans briefly. I've really gotta give a lot of credit to their vocalist Hondo for adding cleans into the mix, and is definitely a game changer for this band. “Ruined is ext up and starts off on an even softer and more delicate note than the previous track, very reminiscent of Cloudkicker to these ears. As this continues, a heavier, bouncier riff is thrown over it creates a very pleasing contrast to this song. After this, “Drown the Prosperity” will keep this moving forward and is a definite contrast to its predecessor. Trading light and peaceful vibes for this very raw piece that still fits wonderfully into the mix in its entirety. It seems that for every two or three songs that display their true musical drive and passion, there is one that shows their brute force and power behind what they all do best. We continue on with “Our Refuge”bringing back more older vibes from their previous work, providing more of a throwback while also showing off how far they have come since Connect. Lastly, we are brought to the inevitable end of this album with “Vanquish”, which closes this journey with one last reminder of what you've heard – this song perfectly displays everything this band has been working towards all before bringing this album to an abrupt end.

By The Thousands has been gaining a lot of attention in their neck of the woods, playing countless shows and covering new ground touring this year, and I hope this only furthers their ambitions as well as any opportunities that may come their way. With so much growth in their talents in such a short amount of time, I'm wondering and interested iun how this may affect their sound later on, but that'll be a story for anolther time. For now, quit sleeping, check out Visions of Inner Depth and support By The Thousands.

STANDOUT TRACK - “Despondency”

RATING – 9/10

LINKS

Facebook

Bandcamp

Merch

Shit You Should Be Listening To PT 12 (5/27/2018)

I decided, since I had a long weekend this week, to do a list of 15 instead of 10. It seems like people just use the phrase to describe metal that they don't like or think is corny. Conform is here to show that nu-metal can not only be pretty damn good, but also heavy as hell. Further proving my point that everything metal related out of Australia, Conform comes from, you guessed it, Perth. Dark, angry, and oftentimes cocky vocals are complimented by bouncy and energetic riffs that will keep your foot tapping and head bobbing. Give nu-metal a second chance and bump the fuck out of Conform.

Top Track: Blood Eagle

BandCamp:https://liveconformdie.bandcamp.com/

Social Media: https://www.facebook.com/liveconformdie/

13. Black Lotus- Legion

Already covered by us at WWU, this single by Black Lotus was too damn good to not add to this list. Heavy ass deathcore with vocals that don't sound identical to every other band in the genre. The riffs laid out by the guitar players are fucking massive and create an awesomely dark and gloomy atmosphere. This track will easily quench your thirst for thick, chunky riffs and heavy as balls breakdowns.

BandCamp: https://blacklotusnj.bandcamp.com/releases

Social Media: https://www.facebook.com/BlackLotusNJ/

12. Shark Infested Daughters- CETRA

Shark Infested Daughters surprised the hell out of me. In a genre that can tend to grow stale quick due to copycats and bands just playing what is "trendy," Shark Infested Daughters is doing an awesome job at sticking out in the crowd. The most prominent difference is the clean singing by the keyboard player. The female lead clean vocals fit surprisingly well with the rest of the band and don't take away from the heavy aspects of the music and add an extra, interesting layer to the music. I am usually not a fan of synth sounding keyboards in metalcore, but they are executed well and don't come off as a distraction to the rest of the music. These guys put a lot of thought into songwriting and it really shines in their music.

BandCamp: https://sharkinfesteddaughters.bandcamp.com/

Social Media: https://www.facebook.com/sharkinfesteddaughters/

11. Behead the Betrayer- Invitation to Desecration

If you just can't seem to get your fix of heavy ass deathcore this week, Behead the Betrayer's got your back. The vocalist has impressive power and uses the full extent of his range in Invitation to Desecration. Every riff in this song is massive as fuck and progressively get heavier throughout the song. The guest vocals in this song from the vocalist of Betrayer are an insanely heavy touch to an already brutal song.

BandCamp: https://beheadthebetrayer.bandcamp.com/

Social Media: https://www.facebook.com/BeheadtheBetrayer/

10. Anything But Sleep- Don't Panic

Anything But Sleep is probably the most fun band on this whole damn list. The southern metal/ hardcore band is, impressively, a two piece band that makes a fuck-ton of noise. This band smashes together rock n' roll and hardcore in such a damn catchy way, it is hard to stop listening to them. Bluesy riffs turn into two steps and breakdowns seamlessly and the lyrics and vocals fit the sound of this band perfectly. These two guys sound like they are genuinely having a great time playing this music. If you are a fan of bands like The Bronx and Every Time I Die, you will love this band.

Top Track: When You Bury Me

BandCamp:https://anythingbutsleep.bandcamp.com

Social Media:https://www.facebook.com/anythingbutsleep/

9. American Standards- Weep

American Standards have been on my radar for a long time. Over time, this band has consistently gotten stronger, and this new single is proof of that. Weep is definitely one of the heavier songs this band has put out. The band wastes no time, playing blistering, hectic riffs paired with blast beats and ripping vocals. The breakdowns are choppy and fast, never dropping the frantic pace of the song. The melodic, kinda sludgy ending is a stark contrast to the first half of this song and it works really well. I can't wait to see what is to come from this band in the near future.

BandCamp:https://americanstndrds.bandcamp.com/

Social Media:

https://www.facebook.com/AmericanStandards

https://twitter.com/AmericanStndrds

https://www.instagram.com/AmericanStandards/

https://www.youtube.com/user/AmericanStandardsAZ

8. Empty Mourning- No Last Words

No Last Words is a flat out monster of an EP. This music is basically written with moshing in mind. Every song is filled with fight riffs that sound like they are made to punch all of your friends in the face too. The breakdowns in practically every song on this EP are fucking huge and dangerously heavy. Don't sleep on Empty Mourning. If you see their name on a banner at a show near you, go fucking see this band.

Top Track: Fickle

BandCamp: https://emptymourning.bandcamp.com/album/no-last-words

Social Media:

https://www.facebook.com/emptymourning/

https://twitter.com/emptymourning

7. OveNola- Deathwish

OveNola is a deathcore band out of Japan that seriously caught my attention. The only song available off of their upcoming album "Death Wish," is the opening track, Noose. If this song is any indicator, Death Wish is going to be an insane fucking release. The riffs throughout this track are original and catchy as fuck while still being super heavy. The vocalist is really talented and has incredible range. The breakdowns are incredibly heavy and hit hard as hell. It takes a lot for a new deathcore band to grab my attention, but these guys have. Give this track a listen and get ready for the release of Death Wish on June 6th.

BandCamp: https://ovenola.bandcamp.com

Social Media:https://www.facebook.com/ovEnolaJP/

6. Insufficient Permissions- Said & Done

This band really took me back. Insufficient Permissions really, really reminds me of 2009 metalcore, and I mean that in a good way. If you were a fan of bands like Sea Of Treachery and Beneath the Sky, you will definitely enjoy the hell out of these guys. The riffs are nostalgic, yet still original. The screaming reminds me Catherine mixed with a little Misery Signals and are a perfect match for this band. They are melodic and catchy, and every riff and breakdown are bouncy as fuck. I really enjoyed Said & Done. Not only because it hit my nostalgia bone, but because they managed to write fresh, original music.

Top Track: History Repeats

BandCamp: https://insufficientpermissions.bandcamp.com

Social Media: https://www.facebook.com/InsufficientPermissions

5. Freeze- Demo 2018

Freeze is a brand new hardcore punk band from Philly that is a refreshing change of sound in the hardcore scene around here. More on the punk side of hardcore than the heavier side, there are two steps fucking everywhere in this demo and they are catchy as fuck. I love the style of the vocals, they almost sound cocky in some parts and it it fits the whole attitude of this band. All three songs are catchy as hell and upbeat and aggressive. They sound surprisingly tight for just putting out their first set of songs. I'm really excited to see what else these guys got in the future.

Top Track: Running

BandCamp: https://freezemf.bandcamp.com/releases

Social Media:https://www.facebook.com/freezemf/

4. Frontierer- Unloved

Words cannot explain how fucking excited I am for the release of this damn album. If you haven't listened to Frontierer, I HIGHLY suggest you do so. Frontierer is a full blown assault on everything you think music is. They are chaotic, abrasive and absolutely unrelenting. I still listen to their last release, Orange Mathematics, is still on my daily rotation. Just this week, Frontierer released the first single from the new album, Unloved. Tumoric is a spastic, twitching, brutal three and a half minutes of insane riffs and blistering vocals. I expected nothing less than insanity from this band, and they sure as fuck delivered. Tumoric just makes me more fucking excited for the release of Unloved on July 27th.

BandCamp: https://frontierer.bandcamp.com

Social Media: https://www.facebook.com/frontiererband

3. Flesh of the Lotus- 213

Flesh of the Lotus are a deathcore outfit from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania that brings the fucking heat. The band's latest single "213"is an atmospheric, dark, and satisfyingly heavy track. The full range of the vocalist is on full display in this song, and he reaches some surprisingly low, evil sounding gutterals. The riffs are heavy as hell and create an awesome atmosphere of dismay. The guitar tone on the chugs of the breakdowns in this song is so disgustingly low, you can't help but make the "breakdown" face. Flesh of the Lotus is one deathcore band that should not be ignored.

BandCamp:https://fleshofthelotus.bandcamp.com

Social Media: https://www.facebook.com/fleshofthelotus

https://www.instagram.com/flesh_of_the_lotus/

2. Wreath of Tongues- Like Rats

This two track demo is an absolute ripper from beginning to end. Fast and grindy, Wreath of Tongues plays noisy, abrasive hardcore out of New York City. The riffs are fast and sludgy and filled with super catchy two steps. The vocals are incredibly powerful and full of anger. The frantic pace of both of these songs is never brought down. Wreath of Tongues doesn't relent even for a second, and that makes the mosh-friendly parts hit so much fucking harder.

Top Track: Enemy

BandCamp: https://wreathoftongues.bandcamp.com/

Social Media:

https://www.facebook.com/wreathoftongues

https://twitter.com/wreathoftongues

https://www.instagram.com/wreathoftongues/

1. Hollow Front- Still Life

There are so many damn good releases coming up within this next month. Hollow Front's "Still Life" being one of the top contenders for my attention. The single they released, the title track of the album, is a melodic, emotionally driven song that is incredibly powerful. They kind of remind me of Stick to Your Guns in the vocal delivery and the overall attitude of the band. The vocalist sounds great and the lyrics are deep and meaningful. The music behind the vocalist is somber and melodic, slowly building up to powerful chugs through upbeat two steps and a really fucking catchy chorus section. I love sung/yelled vocals and this band really pulls it off. Still Life drops June 29th!

BandCamp:https://beckwithrecords.bandcamp.com

Social Media: https://www.facebook.com/HollowFrontGR/

WWU EXCLUSIVE: Black Lotus Releases New Lyric Video

New Jersey's own Black Lotus has released a banger of a new song, so we felt it was only necessary that we share it with all of you! Today they came back to inform fans everywhere that they are calling it a day.

Here is the formal statement from the band regarding the decision:

"Hello everyone. Today as a collective we are announcing our choice to step away from outbreak xero. From the start this blossomed into something we never even imagined. We met a lot of amazing people, visited amazing places, and were given opportunities that we didn’t believe were possible. Rather than get into the details of this decision, we would rather give all of you the latest material that we never got around to release and our previous three singles available for free download as a thank you. The material will also be uploaded to YouTube. This is not the end of music for anyone in this band. We will all love and pursue it in our own special way. And who knows what the future holds? Thanks again, OBX."

In light of this breakup, as mentioned in the statement, the band decided they wanted to say farewell by releasing all of their unreleased music as well as their first few singles from their debut. Thompson's statement also directly contradicts the musician's claim of receiving no royalties for the continued success of his first five albums, even stating that royalty checks would have been sent to him for the reissues in question.

From an technical perspective, these reissues cannot be "bootlegs" by virtue of the contract Whitehead signed with Moribund effectively making them the sound recording owner of those five records. Whitehead expresses his awareness as such in his email to Plastic, which is means his claims can't be substantiated outside of his anger at being left out of the loop—except for the inexplicable inclusion of The Blind Wound, which is outside of Thompson's sphere of influence.

An argument can certainly be made for Whitehead's desire to at least remain aware of what happens to his art, but Thompson states that they tried to contact him several times without getting an answer. This could just be him covering his bases, but it's clear that Whitehead's diatribe has ended up unfounded regardless of whether he (or his fans, for that matter) personally likes what Moribund and Back on Black are doing.

If anything can be learned from this, it would be that young musicians should not sign contracts they're not fully committed to... as the whole situation could have all been avoided if Whitehead had thought clearly about what the Moribund contract would mean for him an his art.

"I would like to apologize to all staff at PHD, Back on Black and associated companies for Mr. Whitehead’s unprofessional and disgraceful behavior," Thompson said to close out his statement.

GET IN TOUCH

Facebook.com/WorldwideHardcore

Worldwidehardcore.bandcamp.com

Twitter.com/wwucrew

Instagram.com/Worldwide_Hardcore

Promote your band in our group:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/927839270619922

Tour Alert: Downsing + Great American Ghost, w/ Degrader & MADTOWN (East Coast - July)

If you've been following this page long enough you should be familiar with our good friends Downswing.
